While looking up the definitions, I realized that each one of these words involves the study of humanities by way of human behavior and how we were raised. It was interesting for me to look up these meanings and to find numerous different definitions for each one. After reading through the definitions, it struck me that each of these have something to do with the way we live, past traditions and how we choose to raise our own families. You can learn a lot about history and ones culture through art, literature and film. Although it may be that particular persons perspective, they are expressing it in a way that many other can understand, even if they are from a different culture. Looking up these definitions helped me understand the meaning of humanities a little more and has given me an idea of what this class will entail. These definitions made me look harder at my own family background and realize I will find that although we speak different languages and live in different countries, we are all influenced by the societies we live in and what was taught to us by our own families.
